~Poems~

Live with no regrets

You say one thing
And mean another
Forgetting what the world brings
Always trying to cover

Dreams come and dreams go
Not knowing what the truth holds
Only believing what we see
Hoping this will be one big fantasy

Closing your eyes at night
You start to wonder if you’re right
But deep inside we know
We can’t stop to think, we got to go

You soon realize life’s too short
Only once its over
So forget about those mistakes and lies
Never quitting but to always try

This is life
This didn’t have to end this way
I’m left speechless with not much to say
We went through moments that were good and bad
Even moments that were happy and sad
You supported me when I was in tears,
We stuck together when we were in fear,
It’s really sad that it had to be this way,
But it has reached its very last day
Miles away can’t keep us apart,
'cause you'll always have that place in my heart.

I decided to add these two poems as my "other" assignment. I had been looking around for previous assignments in previous years and nothing really seemed to stick out. So, I decided to put these two poems up because I think personally, it shows a different side of me in a way. One poem was written for a ELA project last year, and one was written this year just randomly. It's not that they have any special meaning, it's just that they can just connect on some level.

Is life fair?

Life is not what we expect, never what we plan and never what we imagined. I think Life is somewhat unfair...but is that a bad thing? The sooner we learn that life will never be fair and figure out how to positively react, the better off we will be. If life was fair and we always had everything we wanted, what would life be then? BORING. Oppurtunites wouldn't be worth striving for and no effort would have to be involved. I realize that life is unfair but i also realize that all of us should embrace those challenges out there that better us in ways we could never fully understand. Without the unfairness of the world, we'd have nothing to inspire the need for progress.

I posted this short assignment up that we had to do on the blogspot, because I want everyone to realize this. It may be short but it has a lot of meaning. When people seem to think they are having the worst time of their life, just remember that it has to get better at some point. Remember, that everything happens for a reason. Remember that the unfair things in life make life interesting and make you want to push that much more for the right thing. Most importantly, remember that the more time you spend crying and complaining about the past is the less time you have to change that.

To you, what does satisfaction mean?

When you think of satisfaction you might think of an act of fulfilling a certain need or desire, or gratification, but what does satisfaction really mean? Don’t get me wrong it still means that, but to me satisfaction means working toward something and accomplishing it on your own. It’s something you did. It gives you pride in yourself and it can’t be taken away. So that then leads to success which leads to more success and before you know it the more you accomplish the more you’ll want to try, which in the end leads to even more success. Satisfaction isn’t just a one sentence definition, it is an opinion. And how you decide to make that opinion is the result of satisfaction. Although many people seem to think that satisfaction comes from something you have done, it doesn’t always. Many people seem to be more satisfied when people back them up and agree with you. Satisfaction may come from something that others have done or from something that you saw. But satisfaction isn’t always such a happy and good thing. Some people have a “twisted sense” of satisfaction, which means that they take pleasure in other peoples misfortune. It still gives you pride in yourself, but in the sense that you find it amusing to laugh at others downfalls. So even though satisfaction may mean the world to some people, it may hurt others. Even though satisfaction will be viewed differently in every one’s perspective, it still comes back to meaning only one thing… Experiencing a level of comfort in which you realize that you are who you are.

I decided to post this piece of writing up because many people out in the world think so negativally about themeselves. People need to know that it's not anyone else but yourself who should make you feel that way. People need to realize that no matter what they do in life, they should look back and know that they did that for a reason and know that they are truely satisfied, one way or another.

Do you get more respect if you are feared or loved?

People may appreciate you more if you are loved, but people will respect you more if you are feared. When you are feared you are respected, but when you are loved you are underestimated. No one wants to be underestimated. When you are underestimated people start to rethink you, and wonder if you really no what you are doing. They also soon realize that you have no backbone and that you end up hiding when trouble comes. Therefore I think that you will get more respect if you are feared. But who says you can’t have both? Who says you can’t be loved and feared at the same time? Being loved and feared is one of the hardest things to do in the world because, how can you please everyone at the same time and also no that you aren’t underestimated or powerless. Fear gives you power and control, and whether that is a good or a bad thing we can’t always control. When you think of fear you generally think of someone hurting you physically or mentally, but is that truly what fear means? Fear to me means that it is not always a negative thing. It may be a motivator or it may help you in many ways to prove someone wrong. It could help you win a competition or even help you be a better person. It may still be changing your perspective on things but is that such a bad thing? I seem to think it isn’t. Fear puts a twist in this world. It means many different things and people have many different opinions about it. You can control the fear, but love is harder to maintain. Meaning you can control how much someone fears you by how you do something, but you can’t get people to be in love with you twenty-four seven. Only they have the power to decide that. I think in this world we get more respect when we are feared simply because if every single person loved you, they would start to expect the same for them and expecting you to please them, and you can’t please everyone. If you are feared people now know how strong you are when it comes to dealing with things, they can respect you in the way that they know you’re capable of doing things the right way. When someone fears you or fears something it doesn’t mean you still can’t love them or appreciate them. It just means they respect you. In the end I think most people would rather be feared for who they are than to be loved for something they are not.

Why did I pick this piece? I picked this piece because from what I have seen, many classmates have believed that you get more repect if you are loved. I think by reading this it might give them a new prespective. They may not believe it still, but it will have them thinking. It was also one of my better creative writing pieces because I put alot of thought into it and put myself in other people's shoes.

Alessandro Volta

With great sorrow we announce the passing of Alessandro Volta at the age of 82. Alessandro born in Como was a Lombard physicist known especially for the development of the first electric cell. Alessandra Volta’s death came suddenly but yet no one is quite sure why. The Italian inventor became the Professor of Philosophy of Padua, who was named after that by the Emperor of Australia. Alessandro explained his views on matter in a letter to the Abbe Nollet when he was nineteen years old. Not only will Count Alessandro Volta be remembered for his invention of the electric cell, he will also be remembered for the improvement of the electrophorus, discovery of methane, the voltaic battery and many other inventions and discoveries. Volta will always be remembered by his wife and six children and especially for his discoveries and inventions.
I choose this science writing piece because it was one of the few science projects we did this year that involved writing. We had to write what would be written on a scientists' grave stone. It also shows that I can still be somewhat creative when writing science.

This is one of my many social studies movie I have made this year. I decided to post this one because not only did I put alot of time and effort into it, but I want to get the message across. This video has to do with child labour. It was done based on the Universal Decleration of Rights.

Do you think the entire world would be different without you?

I can’t tell exactly what the world would be like without me. I can’t tell if anyone would no I am missing and I can never find out but, I do think the world would be different without me. Many people just wouldn’t be the same. How many times have you done something without giving it a second thought? How many lives have you touched? How many times have you made someone laugh, cry, encouraged them, changed their mind or even made them do something they would have never tried without you? When you really think about it, you realize how many lives you actually have changed without doing much. Even though I can’t tell exactly what the world would be like without me and I can’t tell if anyone would no something is missing if I wasn’t here, I think the world would be a different place without me. If I could see what life would be without me maybe I would be more grateful, take more things for granted or even think differently about myself, but I can’t so I have to realize that on my own, and I also have to realize that every single thing I do will affect someone. Even though most of us out in the world feel powerless and even might think that our efforts and things we do don’t matter to anyone or affect anyone, isn’t it the love, help, kindness, awareness and just being here better than having all the power in the world? I think so and I also think that even though all of us out in the world may not realize it, but we are all important in some way, to those we know, to those we will meet, and to those that we will never know.

Why did i pick this piece?

I picked this piece of writing because everyone out in the world needs to know that they are valued and cared for. When people first think about that question, they often think right away to celebrities and how they aren't one and how they can't affect people, but truely you can. I also picked this because it was only once I was done writing this that I realized myself that I actually am important and I want others to realize that aswell.
